March 2025 SOLC–Day 15
A huge thank you to Two Writing Teachers for all that they do to create an amazing community of writers and a safe, welcoming space to write, learn, share and grow.

Blue skies and sunshine prevail
We head out for an afternoon walk
serenaded by chickadees and waxwings
We’re slipping back into the habit
of wrapping up each day
with a gift to ourselves

Short and lovely. Good to sense that spring is winding its way north to the Mainers in the community!

It’s arrival, although a bit subtle, is most welcome!

beautiful Molly! The change in routine that comes with the time change and an approaching seasonal change is so welcome. The afternoon walk is perfect!

Daily walks are such a nice way to mark the end of the day and connect with my husband. I’ve missed them!

Definitely a gift!

I love the specificity of the birds. You should know the name of at least one bird, right? ALV “If poem”. I’ve been walking with my Merlin app open because there are so many birds.

Merlin is the best! I have been using it a lot lately as well, as the air is definitely richer with bird song these days.

Glad you’re ending days on this note. Glad Eeyore is feeling better. I may need to try both the walk and a poem today.

Eeyore wasn’t thrilled about being referred to as Eeyore! lol Thankfully he’s feeling better and he’s a pretty good sport, too. Hope you got out for a walk!

Sweet. We should all wrap up the day with a guft to ourselves. I need to be better at this!

It’s easy to opt out, but I never regret opting in!

love this! Hope you see more gems along the way.. like bags of asparagus!

The asparagus was still there–it’s looking a bit worse for the wear now. lol I told Kurt that we need to start bringing a bag along with us for trash pickup. It’s disheartening to see how much trash emerges from the snow banks.

A beautiful cherita! I love the simplicity but the power-packed imagery and feeling it brings.

Thanks, Kim! Cheritas are perfect for telling a small story. I haven’t written one in ages.

It has been a while since I have taken my nightly walk. The phrasing “wrapping up each day with a gift to ourselves” has reminded me of getting back to it.

I hope you do, and that you enjoy it as much as we have.
