This week’s Poetry Friday Roundup is hosted by Tricia at her blog, The Miss Rumphius Effect. She’s sharing the Poetry Sisters’ most recent challenge, writing poems of peace, light or hope. By chance, my post fits right in with this challenge–a happy coincidence! Here’s my image poem to end the year. Something to ponder.
Duality
The light
that kindles ice
to sparkling heart
is also the catalyst
for its inevitable
melting

Wishing everyone love and light during this holiday season!

Oh, that reminds me of the saying about the same rain that floods the the river grows the garden, or something close to that. What a lovely image as well. Happy New Year.

I don’t know that saying! I’ll have to check it out. Happy New Year to you, too!

Duality, what a perfect title for your intriguing poem, and light is so special and important, bring it on! I see a heart and little evergreen trees out of those bits of ice. Beautiful pic, thanks for all Molly, and Happy New Year!

Thanks, Michelle. I couldn’t remember the word “duality” for a while, but I knew it was out there somewhere. Finally, it came to me. Happy New Year to you as well! Here’s hoping the New Year is filled with light!

I love how this poem and image work so closely together…the same way the two energies of the sun need each other.
That icy heart! So beautiful, so random — needing no one to notice its artistry and yet you managed to capture it and augment it! Lovelovelove.

I love your image poems. I like feeling like I’m out in the field without seeing that beautiful shot that just can’t be missed. Duality is a really great title for this short, sweet poem…it’s almost a fuse. Shall we light it? Maybe for New Year’s Eve.

I’ve been saying recently that nothing is more interesting to me than perspective. It just always lead to this kind of complexity — so rich, so true.
